Membership

Members get approximately four copies of the CMC News (the Club newsletter) per year, the biennial Mountaineer, and either discounted or free accommodation in Club huts.  They can also get discounts in Bivouac on presentation of their membership card.  And, of course, the knowledge and satisfaction that they are supporting a long tradition of climbing in Canterbury.  

Subscriptions are fixed at the CMC AGM in May each year. The subscription year runs from 1 June to 31 May. People who join after 1 March do not have to renew their subscription until June the following year. Current subscription rates are:

Ordinary member - $60
Student - $55
Long Service (35 years or more continuous membership) - $30
Family - $80
(Outside NZ please add $10 for added postage)

Payment Methods: Direct credit to 03 1592 0103242 00 (preferred) or Cheque

If you need to pay by Credit Card [Visa or Mastercard] you need to email treasurer@cmc.net  with your credit card details as this is done manually. Your membership will not be processed until you initiate this process. 

Subscription renewals

Subscription notices are sent out late June / early July. A $5 discount is offered for early payment of subscriptions by 30 August, for all categories of membership except Long Service. If you change your address please be sure to let the Club know. Send a change of address card to the Membership Secretary at PO Box 2415, Christchurch or contact the membership secretary.

Membership cards are printed in the next issue of your copy of the CMC News following payment.
